Conduct and Etiquette
The highest type of sportsmanship is expected from every player! Players are under an
obligation to avoid acts which are unsportsmanlike or detrimental to the game of tennis.
In sanctioned tournaments, violators of this code are subject to disciplinary action.
Code of Conduct
1. Courtesy,
consideration, and court etiquette should be observed at all times by the players, those
waiting to play, and spectators.
- 2. Loud, abusive or
profane language, or hitting balls indiscriminately is prohibited.
3. No one shall
interrupt or unnecessarily disturb players by walking across or behind a court while a
point is being played.
4. Players should
refrain from loud or profane language while on the courts.
5. Racquets will not
be thrown at any time. NO exceptions!
- 6. Do not stall. The
rules of tennis allow a maximum of 1-1/2 minutes for changing ends of court on odd games
and 20 seconds between points and between games when there is not a changeover.
7. Intentional waving of a
racket or arms or making distracting noises is prohibited.
8. Coaching, except
during the break between the 2nd and 3rd sets, is prohibited. (Spectators, including
parents, friends and coaches, should not interfere with or participate in on-court
matters.)

1. Tennis shoes must
be worn at all times - no black soled shoes.
2. Appropriate
tennis attire must be worn at all times.
3. Present a neat
appearance.
